Saltfork Hunts continues to hunt up over 7000 acres of prime Western Oklahoma Wild Turkey habitat for the 2007 Spring turkey season! The Western
Oklahoma land is blessed with an abundance of Rio Grande turkeys. Our 2006 deer hunters and 2007 spring turkey hunters reported seeing groups of birds exceeding 50 and 60 throughout the ranch every day. One
group of wintered up longbeards numbered in excess of 100 mature Del Rio gobblers. The combined Oklahoma ranches have has an estimated Del Rio turkey population of 3 to 4 hundred birds! The ranch
topography is characterized by rolling prairies, draws and dry washes, free flowing creeks and several large ponds. The terrain is covered with natural range grasses with several areas in CRP. Crops
planted on the ranch include winter wheat and rye as well as food plots of millet there are numerous areas with large cottonwood trees and long shelterbelts that serve as major roosting areas. The Erick Oklahoma
hunting area alone has over 2000 acres of absolute perfect Rio habitat with a large river bottom, stands of scrub oak, open wheat fields and hundreds of mature gobblers. The 2007 cost for spring Rio turkey
